The full Parish Council meeting is held on the first Thursday of the month, apart from August where there is a summer recess.  Meetings are held at the Jubilee Hall, Pottery Road, Hoo St Werburgh, Rochester, Kent, ME3 9BS and start at 7.30pm (and normally last a few hours).  Residents are invited and are encouraged to attend meetings and there is a 'Public Question Time' item on the agenda for questions to be asked and discussed.  Please ensure that questions are related to the responsibilities of the Parish Council, to see our responsibilities click the 'Our Responsibilities' tab at the top of this page.  Although, residents can ask the Parish Council to contact local organisations (such as Medway Council or the Police) to receive updates or raise concerns about matters on behalf of residents.  If attending meetings by car, please park responsibly.  Unless otherwise publicly stated, this meeting is open to the public, however, there may be occasions during these meetings when certain confidential matters have to be discussed and the press and any public present are requested to leave.

Planning Committee:

Please note:  the Parish Council is not the local planning authority and is not responsible for decision making on planning applications.  Although, the Parish Council is a statutory consultee (we are informed of all planning applications within the parish) whereby we are asked for our comments and feedback on each planning application.  The Parish Council's Planning Committee can discuss and put forward recommendations to the monthly full council meeting on what the Parish Council's position on each planning application should be.

Representatives for Outside Bodies:

Please note:  the Parish Council is not responsible for local public footpaths, local public rights of way, Hoo St Werburgh Village Hall, local policing, the condition of local trees (not on Parish Council land) and local public transport.  Although, the Parish Council has representatives on the relavant committees and the Parish Council does monitor the condition of these services on behalf of residents.  Representations are sent to the relavent organisation such as Medway Council, Kent Police, Arriva Bus etc.

  • Medway Council's Rural Liason Committee (a committee made up of representatives from all parish councils in Medway) - Cllr. John Tildesley
  • Public Footpaths & Public Rights of Way (monitoring the condition of) - Cllr. Melanie Rees, Cllr. John Tildesley and Cllr. Angela Gatfield
  • Hoo St Werburgh Village Hall Management Committee (Parish Council representatives on)-  Cllr. Noreen Chambers, Cllr. Ann Shepperd and Cllr Pamela Pratt
