Hoo St Werburgh Church. The Church stands on a slightly raised knoll at the south end of Church Street and is of quite large proportion in relation to its parish congregation in times gone by. The Church is largely 13 th c and stands on a site of an earlier Saxon building. The Church of St Werburgh also has a recently refurbished 60-foot Spire, of which I believe is the only remaining Church Spire on the Peninsula. Meadow House (Main Road, Hoo). This house which is a listed building was formally a farmhouse and dates back to about 1710. It has a hipped mansard roof, a type of roof common to this area. In the late 1800's the house was converted into two separate dwellings.

Ivy House ( Church Street, Hoo). This house also a listed building was erected in 1787. The first owner was William Goldsmith – a shopkeeper of Hoo who paid the princely sum of £250.00 for the privilege. Since 1787 the building has gone through some change but the front façade is still basically the same as the builder originally intended.

Hoo Common (Chattenden). In 1962 a Gravesend benefactor Mr R J Jury gave this parcel of land, around 8 acres known as “Hoo Common” to Hoo Parish Council. Hoo Common, which incorporates part of the Saxon Shore Way, has perhaps one of the best viewpoints within the Medway Towns looking south to St Mary's Island across the River Medway. It is unfortunate that the small-enclosed play area, which is on land leased by Hoo Parish Council at the far northwest corner of the common, has been irreversibly vandalised and is no longer operative.

Kingsnorth Power Station. The construction of Kingsnorth Power Station, east of the village of Hoo St Werburgh took place during the late 1960's whereupon since those days “Kingsnorth” has become a foremost landmark to Medway's rural & river community at large. The 4 sub-critical coal-fired existing units have generated electricity for over 30 years and are due to be replaced by 2 new advanced supercritical coal-fired units if and when and after all the necessary consultation and approvals have been granted.
